A cold front moved across the region during the evening hours of the 27th. This front triggered thunderstorms, some of which produced winds in excess of 55 MPH and heavy rainfall. In Charles County, 1.73 inches of rain fell in Bryan's Road, 1.68 inches fell near Hughesville, and 1.50 inches fell in Waldorf. In St. Mary's County, trees and power lines were downed by high wind. A wind gust of 55 MPH was recorded in Tall Timbers. Minor street flooding also occurred after heavy downpours.
