Severe thunderstorms caused high winds that downed power lines in North Haven, downed trees in Middletown and downed tree limbs in Southbury. Two children were struck and injured by lightning in North Haven. One 19 year old Golfer was struck and injured at The Greater Hartford Open in Cromwell. In addition, thunderstorms produced heavy rain that caused minor flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas mainly across West Central Middlesex County.
