Damaging Wind in Maryland, July 15, 2000
A severe thunderstorm knocked down several trees and numerous limbs and wires in southern parts of Caroline County. Conectiv Energy reported about 10,000 customers lost power throughout the Maryland Eastern Shore the evening and night of the 14th.

A severe thunderstorm knocked down several trees and numerous limbs and wires in southern parts of Caroline County. Conectiv Energy reported about 10,000 customers lost power throughout the Maryland Eastern Shore the evening and night of the 14th. The following night, the combination of the high winds and the heavy rain loosening the ground was too much for one large tree. A Big Tooth Aspen, the largest in the state of Maryland, fell down in Williston.
