Heavy rainfall of 7 to 11 inches in less than twelve hours caused extensive flooding of homes, businesses and roadways from Anna Maria south to Bradenton Beach in extreme western Manatee county. Floodwaters were reported three to four feet above street level in Anna Maria and Holmes Beach with nearly 50 homes damaged.
