A co-operative observer in Petersburg reported 2 inches of rain fell during a thunderstorm. This brought his rainfall total to 11.43 inches for August, 6.86 inches of which fell during the previous five days. The 2 inches from this latest thunderstorm resulted in high water on Highway 56 in Bowman, State Road 65 at Oatsville Road, and Highway 61 near Illinois St. and County Road 800. A resident on Highway 356 near the Petersburg city limit had about 8 inches of water in his yard.
