The Ohio River crested about one foot above the 33-foot flood stage at Shawneetown. This resulted in minor flooding of some low-lying agricultural bottomland. The flooding was mainly the result of very heavy rain that fell over upper portions of the Ohio River basin on the 7th and 8th.
