A deep low pressure system moving across southern Canada, combined with high pressure off the southeast coast, brought gusty southwest winds to the higher terrain of Hartford County. Wind gusts were estimated near 60 mph. The high winds downed trees and power lines in Hartford and Enfield. A 5-year old boy in Hartford was injured when he became trapped beneath a falling tree.
