The combination of strong winds aloft and high instability, associated with a passing Pacific storm system, allowed for winter storm conditions to develop over parts of the northern mountains and adjacent foothills. Snowfall totals from the storm included: 12 inches at Hohnholz Ranch and Old Glendevy Ranch, 11 inches at Klondike, 9 inches, 4 miles southeast of Gould and 8 inches at Hourglass Lake.
