High Surf in California, June 16, 2000
A large wave broke on a 67 foot motor pleasure craft 20 miles west of Big Lagoon. Two crew members suffered lacerations and bruises and were airlifted by the Coast Guard to a hospital.

A large wave broke on a 67 foot motor pleasure craft 20 miles west of Big Lagoon. Two crew members suffered lacerations and bruises and were airlifted by the Coast Guard to a hospital. The wave blew out windows, damaged the electrical system and damaged the steering system. The wave was estimated to be 36 feet, twice the size of the 18 foot predominate waves.
