Several road closures along the Tanque Verde wash, Canada Del Oro wash, and Pantano wash due to flooding. Roughly a dozen or more road closures due to standing water around the Tucson Metro area. Homes were temporarily evacuated in Tanque Verde Canyon just east of Tucson. The International Airport in Tucson received record rainfall for the 22nd of 1.24 inches. The previous record was .23 inches in 1957. The 22nd ranks the 10th wettest day in October. Other measurements of precipitation across the Tucson area ranged from 1 inch to 2.5 inches. In the Catalina Mountains precipitation was in the form of snow. Mount Lemmon received 6 inches of snow, while Summerhaven only received 2 inches of snow.The Santa Cruz River in Cortaro crested at 10.5 feet at 1 pm on the 23rd. The flood stage is 14 feet.The Santa Cruz River in Green Valley was running bank to bank. The river crested at 7.9 feet shortly before 10 am on the 23rd. The flood stage is 15 feet.Silver Bell mountains experienced flooding. Also the Oro Blanco wash flooded.
