Thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening of the 7th produced damaging winds, damaging lightning, and hail up to 1 3/4 inches in diameter.Thunderstorm winds downed trees in central Amherst County, 2 miles southeast of Burnt Chimney, and in Scottsburg, with one tree blocking a road.Lightning struck and damaged two houses in Boones Mill, in the early afternoon and evening.
