An area of thunderstorms developed over the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and moved across Loudoun and Fairfax Counties between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM EDT. These storms produced heavy downpours and winds in excess of 55 MPH. Several trees were downed between Round Hill and Bluemont and near Aldie in Loudoun County. A tree was also downed in the city of Fairfax and temporarily blocked Prosperity Avenue.
