Thunderstorms the evening of the 23rd produced hail up to 0.88 inches in diameter and damaging winds.Thunderstorm winds downed trees 1 1/2 miles southeast of Forest, trees and power lines in Lynchburg, trees onto Route 24 in Rustburg, and trees and power lines in Red Oak.Thunderstorm winds downed numerous trees and power lines across northern Halifax County leaving over two thousand homes without power. Downed trees blocked parts of Route 720 and crushed an automobile. Significant wind damage was done to a mobile home in Clover.
