As a result of the very heavy rains on the previous night and through the early morning hours, the Bad River rose to above flood stage at Fort Pierre. At Fort Pierre, the river rose to 21.85 feet in the late morning hours. Flood stage is 21 feet. The river fell quickly back to below flood stage in the late afternoon hours. Some lowland flooding resulted from the rise of the Bad River with no damage occurring.
