Strong northeast winds from Floyd, combined with waterlogged soils, brought down thousands of trees across parts of the middle and lower Susquehanna region. High Knob in Sullivan County had hundreds of trees downed across the mountaintop, and Ricketts Glen State Park had many trees down. In the Harrisburg area alone, more than 50,000 were without power. Wind caused a Conrail freight train's cars to shift on the Rockville Bridge north of Harrisburg. Several cars actually tipped over, but their contents did not spill into the Susquehanna River. Utility poles were also downed in a number of areas due to the winds and wet soils.
