A severe thunderstorm knocked several trees and wires across the southern part of Lehigh County from New Smithville through Coopersburg. About 7,500 homes and businesses throughout the Lehigh Valley and Bucks County lost power. About 1,555 of the outages occurred within Allentown. No serious injuries were reported.
