A thunderstorm developed over the mountains southeast of Medford on this afternoon. A gust front from this thunderstorm swept across the Rogue Valley beginning around 1830 PDT. A lot of damage was reported, mostly associated with falling trees. Gusts over 50 mph were recorded at Medford airport, but no measured wind velocities reached severe thresholds. No warning was issued for this event, but winds probably exceeded severe criteria in some areas (the windspeeds listed above are estimates).
