Hail and Damaging Winds in Oklahoma, September 11 to 12, 1999
Isolated severe thunderstorms developed in the late evening of the 11th and the early morning hours of the 12th in western Oklahoma, producing very strong winds, especially in northwest Oklahoma. Most of the damage was confined to Woodward and Mooreland in Woodward County.

Isolated severe thunderstorms developed in the late evening of the 11th and the early morning hours of the 12th in western Oklahoma, producing very strong winds, especially in northwest Oklahoma. Most of the damage was confined to Woodward and Mooreland in Woodward County. Numerous trees and power line poles were reported down in Woodward, including an 80-foot transmission pole that was snapped off at the corner of 11th Street and Main, resulting in loss of power to 6000 customers. In Mooreland, a cooling tower was heavily damaged at the Western Farmers Electric Cooperative, and 2 trailers were blown over at Curry Dozer Service, while a 12-foot cinderblock fence was blown over in another part of town. In Waukomis in Garfield County, lightning struck a house, igniting a fire which destroyed about two-thirds of the house.
