Summary of severe events for April 26 1999:A broad band of rain and thunderstorms moved eastward across eastern Oklahoma in advance of a closed upper-level low on the morning of April 26. By the time the band reached far eastern Oklahoma, daytime heating allowed one of the embedded thunderstorms to produce marginally severe hail. By late afternoon, cold air aloft near the center of the upper-level low allowed isolated thunderstorms to form over central Oklahoma. These storms then moved east-southeast across Pittsburg, Pushmataha and Latimer Counties in southeast Oklahoma, producing marginally severe hail and wind. As the last storm of the day approached southeast Pushmataha County, it developed strong rotation, but there were no reports received of any tornadoes.
