A strong tornado was spawned in southern Pope County. The tornado developed near Russellville and moved northeast. The tornado destroyed a concrete block building, and two people were injured inside. An apartment complex lost its roof, some storage buildings were heavily damaged, 15 homes suffered structural damage, and 50 homes had minor damage...mostly to roof shingles. A number of chicken houses sustained damage as well, and trees and power lines were blown down. The tornado dissipated about 5 miles northeast of Russellville.
