As a severe thunderstorm moved northeast across Rockland County, it produced high winds and heavy rain that downed trees and power lines at both Stony Point and Tomkins Cove. Other areas hit hard included Congers, Nanuet, and Orangeberg. About 7,500 Rockland County residents lost power during the thunderstorm.
