A severe thunderstorm crossed eastern Niagara County during the early afternoon hours. The thunderstorm dropped up to three inches of rain which resulted in localized flash flooding. The high winds the thunderstorm produced downed trees and power lines. In Wheatfield, a lightning bolt crashed through the front window of a home, setting in on fire. Extensive damage resulted.
