Damaging winds up to about 60 mph accompanied a cold front and rain showers as they moved through Burlington County around 5 p.m. EST. The worst damage occurred in a shopping plaza in Burlington City. A 150 foot long section of the plaza's roof was torn away and flew up to 200 yards. Some of the debris struck vehicles and ruptured a gas line. A 62-year-old woman was injured in her vehicle when the debris struck her car. An air conditioning unit on the roof was flipped over. Some gutters were ripped from the roof. Damage to the roof was estimated at $50,000. Elsewhere across the county several trees were uprooted. One fell across U.S. Route 206 in Eastampton Township and caused minor damage to a trailer. The roof was blown off a barn and several stables in Springfield Township. Public Service Electric and Gas reported 4,500 homes and businesses lost power in the Camden to Mercer County corridor. All power was restored by 1030 p.m. EST. The peak wind gust at the South Jersey Regional Airport was 48 mph at 506 p.m. EST.
