Collapsing thunderstorms in northern Kansas produced wind gusts to 70 mph across a small part of southern Nebraska. In Franklin county, numerous tree limbs and power lines were downed by the wind. A garage was destroyed and church sign blown over. The next morning, residents awoke to a quarter inch of fine dust in their homes. Some driving at the time of the wind compared conditions to the "Dust Bowl" years of the 1930s.
