After a round of thunder, lightning and rain showers in the morning, a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow changed to all snow by afternoon. Even though only 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulated, north winds gusting up to 50 mph caused whiteout conditions.

After a round of thunder, lightning and rain showers in the morning, a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow changed to all snow by afternoon. Even though only 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulated, north winds gusting up to 50 mph caused whiteout conditions. KTTC TV in Rochester reported near zero visibility during the late afternoon and evening as a result of strong winds and blowing snow.
