An early summer heat wave brought temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s to southeast Michigan on the 6th through the 12th. The warmest temperatures were in the metro Detroit area. These readings approached record highs for those dates. One new record high was set, that being 91 degrees in Flint on the 10th. Two children overdid things while playing outside on the 7th, and were treated at a Pontiac hospital for heat exhaustion.
