Damaging Wind and Lightning Strikes in Massachusetts, June 29, 1999
An isolated severe thunderstorm downed trees on Sterling Road in Princeton, and another tree downed by thunderstorm winds blocked Route 62. Other thunderstorms with frequent lightning caused scattered power outages in Hampshire and Hampden Counties.

An isolated severe thunderstorm downed trees on Sterling Road in Princeton, and another tree downed by thunderstorm winds blocked Route 62. Other thunderstorms with frequent lightning caused scattered power outages in Hampshire and Hampden Counties. About 900 customers lost power. Belchertown was one of the hardest hit areas from lightning strikes.
