The drought eased during the month of August in extreme northeast Kentucky. The monthly rains were on the order of 4 to 6 inches. Temperatures were not as hot as those endured during July. Yet, the drought still lingered at month's end.Yatesville Lake was 3 feet below summer pool, while Grayson Lake was 6 feet lower than usual.
