Light freezing rain or sleet changed over to heavy snow over much of western Iowa early on the 8th. Snowfall of 6 to 12 inches was common over much of the area. The snow was accompanied by east to southeast winds of 15 to 30 mph which caused some drifts over 3 feet. Heavier snow amounts included...12 inches at Little Sioux and 8 inches at Turin.
