The third event occurred on the late evening of the 22nd and early on the 23rd. 2 to 4 inches of rain fell across northern Indiana which caused another crest to form in west central Indiana and move down the Wabash River. The final rain event came on the 27th and 28th and produced 1 to 2 inches of rain across much of the state. This final rain event allowed Lafayette to crest at 13.02 feet on the 29th, Covington to crest at 17.51 feet on the 30th and Montezuma to crest at 15.59 feet on the 30th.
