A coastal low pressure system helped cause minor tidal flooding at the time of high tide the morning of the 15th along coastal Delaware. The high tide at Lewes reached 7.1 feet above mean lower low water at 630 a.m. EST. Some minor beach erosion also occurred. The low pressure system developed along the Gulf Coast States the morning of the 13th. During the morning of the 14th it had moved into Alabama and was located just east of the Delmarva Peninsula around daybreak of the 15th. The storm intensified as it moved northeast on the 15th, but moved rapidly offshore. It was already over Nova Scotia the morning of the 16th. The rapid movement prevented a protracted and more serious tidal flooding event from occurring.
