Wind gusts were estimated to be even stronger in other areas, including a section of US Highway 50 where a van rolled after being blown off the road. Numerous tree limbs were broken and a stop sign was blown over in Montrose. The winds also resulted in seven out-of-control brush fires in the area. The visibility in many areas was reduced to less than 2 miles in blowing dust.
