High Wind in Alaska, April 2, 1999
Gusty northwesterly winds were observed Friday on the back side of a weakening low just south of Prince William Sound. At Middleton Island, adjusted ASOS wind gusts reached 69 mph from the west between 9pm and 11pm Friday.

Gusty northwesterly winds were observed Friday on the back side of a weakening low just south of Prince William Sound. The low was a 992mb center near Middleton Island at 3am Friday...but had weakened to a 1016mb center 90 miles southeast of Middleton Island at 3am Saturday.Adjusted ASOS wind gusts reached 46 mph at the Homer airport and 47 mph at Seward Friday afternoon.At Middleton Island, adjusted ASOS wind gusts reached 69 mph from the west between 9pm and 11pm Friday.
