Strong wind blew windows out of a truck and farm equipment, blew down trees, destroyed an antenna, blew the roof off a storage shed, damaged the roof of a cottage, and damaged a box car. NWS storm survey estimated winds to have been about 80 mph.

Strong wind blew a 50 foot roof off of a barn, and damaged several hog pens at the highschool's farm. Large trees were damaged near the farm on U.S. Highway 287. In Childress, power poles, trees and power lines were blown down.
