Heavy rainfall, two to three inches in just over one hour, caused many underpasses throughout the city of Birmingham to be flooded. Most of the locations were flood prone areas that have slight drainage problems. Several vehicles were flooded in several feet of water and were subsequently stranded in the high water. No injuries were reported. At the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the lowest level of the Hill University Center was flooded. This is mainly a drainage problem but several feet of water entered the building.
