Temperatures typical of mid-summer affected much of central and northeast Wisconsin in mid-May. A record high of 89 degrees was set in Wausau (Marathon co.) on the 18th. Green Bay (Brown co.) recorded a record-tying 88 degree maximum on the 19th. The balmy weather caused pavement to pop on freeways around Green Bay.
