These counties were the wettest, but most of central West Virginia was well above normal. Ripley of Jackson County had 15.5 inches for June. Clendenin of Kanawha County had 14.6 inches, while Parkersburg saw 13.2 inches. It was the wettest month on record for Parkersburg, with records dating back to 1885. The previous wettest month for Parkersburg was 12.05 inches in July of 1958.
