In addition to the tornado, the line of thunderstorms were prolific lightning producers. Lightning started two building fires in Lower Montgomery County. In Upper Moreland Township, a barn burned to the ground on Terwood Road. No damage estimate was available. In Lower Gwynedd Township, the fire that started in a large three story home caused about $100,000 in damages. One fire fighter suffered smoke inhalation battling the blaze.
