Gradient flow between a large high pressure system over the Great Lakes region and the powerful nor'easter developing along the southeast U.S. coast produced sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph with frequent gusts in excess of 40 mph. Some gusts exceeded 50 mph, especially at higher elevations and along the coastal plain. Dozens of medium to large limbs and some whole trees were knocked down, most common across the upper northern neck region. Power outages were scattered but common throughout portions of the Commonwealth.Though damage was not widespread, a barn was blown down along state route 151 in Roseland (VAZ036).
