A cold front moved southeast from Canada across Vermont during the late afternoon and night of Sunday, September 27th and triggered thunderstorms. Locally strong winds, small hail and torrential downpours accompanied a few of the storms. In Island Pond (Essex county), numerous huge trees and power lines were blown down. Trees down across roads resulted in road closures. Power outages were reported.
