A cluster of thunderstorms crossed the Upstate during the midday hours. One became severe and produced damaging straight line winds that blew a canopy off a gas station, blew trees and power lines down, and knocked a tower over in Seneca. Dime size hail was reported in couple of locations in Pickens county. Heavy rain of over 2 inches in a 30 minute period in the Simpsonville and Mauldin areas of southern Greenville county caused the Gilder and Horspen creeks to flood through the late afternoon.
