Damaging Wind in Pennsylvania, June 1, 1998
A squall line of severe thunderstorms caused wind damage in Lower Bucks County. The worst damage occurred near the Philadelphia and Montgomery County lines with the severe thunderstorm that dropped the tornado on those two areas.

A squall line of severe thunderstorms caused wind damage in Lower Bucks County. The worst damage occurred near the Philadelphia and Montgomery County lines with the severe thunderstorm that dropped the tornado on those two areas. Wind damage was reported from Upper Makefield to Bristol Township with Bensalem and Bristol Townships the hardest hit. Six school districts cancelled classes on June 1st because of power outages. In Bensalem Township, downed trees caused power outages on six major routes. The Village Square Apartment lost part of its roof because of a fallen tree. A fallen tree also caused minor damage to the Holy Ghost Preparatory School building. The Bensalem Golf Course lost a number of trees. About 20,000 homes and businesses lost power in Bucks County - the least of the five southeastern Pennsylvania counties served by PECO Energy. There were still 4,500 customers without power the night of the first.
