Winter Storm, Lower Columbia Basin

When: January 13, 10:00 PM PST to January 14, 12:00 PM PST
Where: Lower Columbia Basin forecast zone

Freezing rain started late Tuesday night and by Wednesday morning ice on roads caused dangerous driving conditions. An overturned tractor trailer briefly blocked the Interstate-84 on-ramp near Stanfield. Multiple, mostly minor, traffic accidents caused a two-hour closure of ice covered Highway 97 between Wasco and Biggs. Ice on roads and sidewalks kept area schools closed.
