Summary of events of April 14, 1998:Isolated severe thunderstorms developed during the afternoon and moved across Oklahoma, producing large hail and damaging winds. One storm in north-central Oklahoma produced hail up to 3 inches in diameter and wind gusts estimated as high as 60 mph south of Ponca City.

Summary of events of April 14, 1998:Isolated severe thunderstorms developed during the afternoon and moved across Oklahoma, producing large hail and damaging winds. One storm in north-central Oklahoma produced hail up to 3 inches in diameter and wind gusts estimated as high as 60 mph south of Ponca City. Houses and cars sustained damage from this storm. Another storm in central Oklahoma produced hail as large as golf balls and damaging wind gusts as well. Portions of Grady County were particularly hard-hit, with damage reported to trees and power lines between Rush Springs and Chickasha.See preceding individual Storm Data entries for further details and additional reports.
