As a cluster of severe thunderstorms developed over Eastern Nassau and Western Suffolk Counties, they produced damaging winds, hail, and torrential rain.High winds downed trees and wires twice in Deer Park. Trees were downed on Evelyn Drive in Syosset and a large tree fell on a Dairy Barn Store in Ronkonkoma.Rainfall rates up to 2 1/2 inches per hour caused extensive street flooding from Melville to Ronkonkoma.
