From January 8 to January 10, the Battenkill in Washington County flooded, due to a combination of significant rain and snowmelt. The river crested nearly one foot above flood stage at Battenville. The main impact from the flood waters was extensive flooding of fields, especially in the Shushan area and flooded roadways. State road 29 was flooded in several locations.
