From January 8 through January 10, the Moose River flooded in northern Herkimer County from the Old Forge area to McKeever, due to a combination of significant rain and snowmelt. The river crested 2.5 feet over flood stage and came within 2.54 feet of its flood of record. The crest occurred during the early evening hours of January 8. The river flooded the road next to the gage house at McKeever.
