Lightning Strike in New Jersey, May 6, 1998
Frequent lightning injured two persons, struck four buildings and knocked out power to 1,300 customers the afternoon of the 6th within Brick Township. A 35-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were struck by lightning in the parking lot of a Costco store.

Frequent lightning injured two persons, struck four buildings and knocked out power to 1,300 customers the afternoon of the 6th within Brick Township. A 35-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were struck by lightning in the parking lot of a Costco store. The man was knocked unconscious. Lightning also struck four homes and businesses within the township. The worst reported damage was to the roof of a home on Barker Road. The lightning knocked out power for several hours to about 1,300 customers.
