A severe thunderstorm dropped golf ball size hail near Lake Hopatcong in Sussex County. Hail accumulated up to 3 inches within Hopatcong Heights. The thunderstorm also produced frequent lightning and caused widely scattered power outages throughout the county. The most outages were reported around the Vernon area.
