A squall line of severe thunderstorms produced scattered pockets of wind damage throughout the county. Trees, tree limbs and power lines were reported knocked down. Hardest hit communities included Runnemede and Merchantville. In addition to 60 mph wind gusts, nickel size hail also fell in Cherry Hill. Public Service Electric and Gas reported 74,000 customers lost power during the storm. Most were in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties. There were still 32,500 customers without power during the evening of June 1st. All power was restored by the morning of the second.
